Turkish Slippers

Thomas Moseley offered his Boston customers the latest Turkish kilim tapestry slippers, imported from France after the Crimean War (1853-56). Images of customers shopping for shoes in the 1850s show them surrounded by attentive clerks and dozens of beautiful slippers and boots.
