Toulopoulos Hat

Pauline Kotsopoulos Toulopoulos was born in Lowell, Massachusetts. Her parents came from Greece to work in the textile mills. Deeply involved in her community, Pauline volunteered at the Somerville [Massachusetts] Greek Orthodox Church and was interested in educational causes. She took the bus and subway with her daughter, Pamela, into Boston’s Downtown Crossing to purchase hats and shoes at department stores such as Filene’s and Jordan Marsh. Pamela donated this c. 1965 feather-and-sequins Christian Dior hat from her mother’s collection.
