Sprout

Toko Shinoda,  (篠田桃紅)   Japanese artist, who developed traditional calligraphy into abstract paintings in sumi ink.   She became acquainted with the Gropiuses during their trip to Japan in 1954.  Subsequently, she visited the Gropius House twice (1956 & 1977).
