Remember: Needlework

Thirteen-year-old Anne Kuhn embroidered this needlework picture in memory of her mother, Hannah, who died in 1797. Working with Boston artist John Johnston, who painted the faces and background, Anne depicted herself, her father, and her brother at her mother’s grave.
