Library Table

This mahogany library table with Richardsonian carving on the legs was made around 1890 by the eminent Boston furniture company A. H. Davenport. Historic New England owns the original design drawing for the table drawn by the company’s designer Francis Bacon. The piece represents an iconic design of the A. H. Davenport Company which was one of the nation’s leading producers of high-end furniture, with a clientele that included leading architects and wealthy industrialists.
