Ise Gropius (1897-1983)
Ise Frank married Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius in Berlin in 1923. Their home in Lincoln, Massachusetts, is a monument to Gropius’s commitment to modern design and functionality. Many of Ise Gropius’s gems were gifts from friends and family. Others she most likely purchased at Design Research, her favorite Cambridge, Massachusetts, store.
