Set of Jewelry
United States or possibly Sri Lanka, c. 1910
Gold, moonstone
Gift of the Stephen Phillips Memorial Charitable Trust for Historic Preservation

In 1914, at age sixty-seven, Margaret Duncan Phillips traveled around the world. When she arrived in Sri Lanka she acquired several pieces of jewelry, including a set of moonstones, which cost 41 rupees. The minimal settings of this set, which may not include those Sri Lanka moonstones, reflect the style of the early twentieth century.
