Collaboration

Serge Chermayeff studied architecture in Germany and became a furniture designer for Isokon along with Breuer and Gropius. In the United States, Chermayeff taught architecture at Brooklyn College in 1942 and was the Director of the Institute of Design in Chicago from 1946-1951. Chermayeff’s painting is known for being abstract and richly colored.
