Birthday Card: Anni Albers, 1943
Anni Albers made her mark on textile art at the Bauhaus weaving workshop between 1922-1933 and beyond by bringing new abstract modernism motifs and technologies into textile weavings. With the close of the Bauhaus, in 1933 Anni and Josef Albers were hired at Black Mountain College. While her husband taught a range of art classes, Anni led the weaving and textile design program.
