Birthday Card: Walter Paepke, 1943

Through the Institute of Design in Chicago, Walter Gropius met Walter Paepke, the head of Container Corporation of America, a firm that reflected his concern for good design. As a result of Paepke’s interest, Gropius was appointed as consultant architect to the firm in 1944.
